Quick answer

GTA 6 comes out on Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It costs $79.99 (Standard) or $99.99 (Ultimate Edition) in the US. If you buy digitally, you can pre-load (download early) from November 12.

What time does GTA 6 unlock?

The US PlayStation Store lists the release as 05:00 UTC on November 19. That's midnight Eastern Time (9 p.m. Pacific on the evening of November 18). Other countries unlock at their own local midnight, so New Zealand and Australia get it first. On PlayStation, your unlock time follows your store account's region, not where you're physically sitting.

How much does GTA 6 cost?

Is there a disc?

Not at launch. The boxed version you'll see in stores contains a download code, not a disc. You still need to download the game. Retailers have also warned that the codes are region-locked, so buy in the country your console account is set to.

Why did it take so long?

Trailer 1 (December 2023) promised "2025." In May 2025 Rockstar moved the date to May 26, 2026, and in November 2025 it moved it again to November 19, 2026, saying the extra months would let them finish the game with the polish players expect.

What about PC?

Rockstar hasn't announced a PC version or date. At launch it's PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. It isn't coming to PS4 or Xbox One.
