The tip: West Coast players, you don't have to wait until the morning of the 19th. On a US store account, GTA VI unlocks for the whole country at the same moment.
Your unlock time (US accounts)
- Eastern: 12:00 a.m. Thursday, Nov 19
- Central: 11:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov 18
- Mountain: 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov 18
- Pacific: 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov 18
That's from the US PlayStation Store's listed release time of 05:00 UTC. On PlayStation, it follows your account's region, not where you are. Full table, plus UK and Europe: what time GTA 6 unlocks.
Do this today (takes two minutes)
- PS5: Game Library, select GTA VI, select the countdown timer, and tick the automatic download box. Then turn on Stay Connected to the Internet in rest mode. Full PS5 steps.
- Xbox: use Sleep power mode with game updates switched on, and check My games & apps on November 12. Full Xbox steps.
Seen people suggesting you change your Xbox time zone to New Zealand to play early? Rockstar and Microsoft haven't said that works, and changing region can mess with your store. We'd skip it.
